Hey there,

Do you have a link to the page in question? I just checked the site in your ticket and could not see K2 installed.
Let me know.

Cheers,
Jason.

Jason,

apparently K2 was not included in the Quickstart package
of AVANTI Template.

Can you please tell me where to upload it from?

Thanks

Sofia

The message you get is only a warning and it isn't necessary to have JoomFish unless you intend to use it.

Thank you again :)

Now, since I don't seem to get the ONE SIMPLE THING
I want : having people comment on my Blog, unless
I go through K2 Documentation, and become a proficient
JOOMLA coder, is there a possibility I can hire an experienced
JOOMLA programmer to help me fix the technical parts of my
site? I mean through JOOMLABAMBOO Forum?

Or should I search for an outsourcer for that?

Kind Regards

Sofia

Hey Sofia,

There are many developers on this forum who are familiar with the templates and the components so I would suggest making a list of tasks you need done and post it in the Professional Services section of the forum. You should get a good response there.

Cheers,
Jason.

Although I think what you require is quite simple and could be resolved easily on the forum. Let us know where you are at with K2 and we can help.
Just as a guide, you need to create items in K2 instead of articles in Joomla for your blog. Comments are normall enabled by default on K2 items but you can change that in the parameters section under Components-> K2

Cheers,
Jason.

So, I'm at K2 Control Panel
and I want to create the BLOG
and assign to it Categories and then
Items to the Categories which I suppose
stand for "postings"....right?

Do I start by adding an EXTRA FIELD
which I'll call BLOG, and then assigning
Categories to it, and then assigning
Items to the Categories ?

Thanks

Sofia

Hi Sofia,

You can keep it simple by creating categories in K2 for your blog and the you add items (posts), to those categories.

In your menu manager, you will link to K2 items, categories, tags or other options that will be available when you create a new menu item.

Cheers,
Jason.

Jason,

right now, the BLOG is located to this address
by default ( AVANTI Quickstart Package)

b-thebest.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=6

which is NOT the best SEOwise address in the world by the way.

By creating categories, inside K2 Platform, how shall
I point to the BLOG's address, since it is set according
to different parameters, or how can I cancel the existing one
and replace it with a new one in an address such as :

b-thebest.com/blog/

Thanks

Sofia

K2 supports Core Joomla SEF, sh404, and aceSEF (maybe also others I am not sure) choose only 1 option

to enable Core SEF
1. rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess (if not done already, it is in the root of your joomla installation)
2. log into Joomla admin
3. Global Configuration
4. Site
5. Under SEO Settings set Search Engine Friendly URLs to yes
6. Set Use Apache mod_rewrite to yes

sh404 on JED extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/sef/10134

I don't know if there is a SEF extensions joomlabamboo recommends

Hi Sofia,

Just dropping in here and in response to the K2 questions it might be best to seek out the official K2 documentation to see how it works or perhaps go to k2joom.com which is a K2 support site. Simon, the owner, is a member here and i svery helpful and will be able to steer you through all of these setup questions.

Of course if you have any questions related to the template feel free to continue posting here.

Thanks Anthony
