I would love some easy way to install the jb avanti template, using hostgator i am not sure how to install the whole quickstart.

i mean i would like to install the quickstart package through jb but it doesn;t seem to be working

The quickstart can not be used on a previously existing Joomla install.

Sure you can delete your current installation and then install the quickstart from scratch. The quickstart just cant be installed into or over the top of an existing installation.

The documentation link shows a "Page Not Found" error. Has the documentation been removed? I'm on Hostmonster and am trying to do the installation. So... if I understand this correctly, the quickstart package isn't just testdata. It includes the entire Joomla package. So, we should upload and install this manually before installing Joomla and THEN we can download updates, etc. But, to do so, we will need to download the upgrade package from Joomla.org, rather than using any Simplescripts shortcuts.

A guide to installing a Quickstart package can be found here:

It is a complete recreation of the demo, Joomla (latest version), the template, all the extensions, everything. It is the only thing you need to install to create a fully-functioning demo. Then you can just edit the content as required.

Crucially, if you already have a functioning Joomla site (with content) you cannot install this over the top without losing everything alreday there. You must delete your current install first.
