t3 plugin

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi - I'm trying to restore an old J2.5 site. When I access the home page at www.avrsonline.co.uk I get this error:

JError: T3_MISSING_T3_PLUGIN

Also, I can't log in to the admin area using the login details I think I should be using. Sometimes it gives me the wrong username/password error, and sometimes it just reverts to the empty login boxes.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Have you checked the database and the user table for the username?

That will give you an idea on access details - it will tell you the username but the password will be hashed

docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_recover_or_reset_your_admin_password%3F

I tend to go for Method 2: Direct Editing of Database

But if you do make sure you have a copy of the database first - you can normally take a copy via the hosting control panel

I'd strongly suggest moving to Joomla 3

But I'd get the site working first

When you are logged in check the t3 plugin is enabled and what version number is it?

Hi Paul - thanks for this. I tried resetting the password in phpmyadmin but I still can't get in.

I enter the username and new password, click login, but the fields just empty and nothing happens.

Fortunately, it's not an issue - the site has been off line for a year, and I was just trying to retrieve some data.

It would be good to know if you've come across a problem like this before.

Thanks again,

Ian

Hi Ian,

You shouldn't be changing the username and you should be added secret in its password field

is that what you tried?

Hi Paul - I didn't change the username, just entered the code for 'secret' via phpmyadmin, but the login box simply isn't working for me. When I try to log in using the new password the login fields either go blank, or revert to the last details saved.

I've tried in Firefox, Safari and Chrome, with the same result :-(

Thanks

Hi Paul - yes, tried https - still no luck.

Thanks for all the support, but I'll probably give up on this one. If I can work up the enthusiasm I may just delete everything that's up there, and try a fresh reinstall...

]Thanks again

Hi Ian

If you just need the data out, you could grab it directly from the database, either directly or by export.

May be quicker than getting an old site back up.

If you have a database it does give you some options with migrating it if needed
