Hi - I'm getting warnings that I need to upgrade server php
from 5.6 to 7.x.x.

My host says this might cause problems with the websites, and that I would also need to upgrade easy apache from 3 to 4.

I see that pho 7 is recommended for J 3.7.1, which is installed on all my sites - am I safe to go ahead, or is there anything I should do first?

I don't know enough about easy apache to answer that one

Upgrade to php7 if you have updated extensions so they are compatible

Ideally if you haven't done this before on the host I'd test it on a separate domain first

Regarding 5.6 you don't have to upgrade - the warning has been added in the latest Joomla updates

Going to 7 will be more secure and faster but you don't have to as php 5.6. will have security updates for another year

Thanks Paul - I have tested some of them locally on 7.1, but the host has suggested setting up a temporary server and testing them all there first.

I think I may do this.
