edit module when I'm not logged in

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi - I've just noticed that I have the ability to edit modules on my site - even when I'm not logged in.
This happens when I'm working from my principal Mac. It doesn't happen if Iog in from the PC.
www.leadbetters.co.uk/newsite
J3.3/Responsive template.
Is this something new in Joomla? Is it recognising my IP address?
Thanks
Ian

You must be logged in - are you building the site on the mac?

The ability to edit modules was J3.2 via the front end but I think the ability to edit must be the fact you are editing/building the site in the backend or are logged in

Hi Paul - thanks for getting back to me.
All seems logical, but a bit frightening at first.
Our server has just been subject to a massive attack which caused all sorts of problems. I thought for a moment this might be one of them.
All sorted now though…
Thanks again

I've not used it to be honest - the whole idea makes me nervous :)

Sorry to hear about the server attack :(

Can't avoid it - it's just there

Server attack is really scary. I was locked out of my WHM cPanel access because of the number of failed logins.
The mind boggles.

You should be able to disable the setting in Joomla config if you are worried

Thanks Paul - I shouldn't worry - at least not now I understand.
Another day, another challenge tomorrow :-)

Ah - I've discovered a mouse-over edit option in global config where you can change the settings.
It must get activated if I'm working on the back end from the same computer.
Live and learn,

Yes I didn't know that either but think I disable front end editing on my sites I'm involved in :)
