Yes Paul - totally blank.

Not certain what you mean here - so it's probably what I'm missing...

The administrator has disabled public write access.
So you need to set error reporting to maximum to see the error

I think that it is time for you to set error reporting finally to the Maximum level as I suggested so we can see the PHP error messages

Not sure what I've done to deserve this…

The only one that matters is this one

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in /home/avrsonl2/public_html/components/com_k2/helpers/route.php on line 93

That tells me that your server doesn't have mbstring for php support installed.

Ask your hosting provider to install php-mbstring module and it will fix this

The rest of the messages you see are just warnings that are important to the devs so you can just skip them and set error reporting back to the default now

Hi again Mihha. My host installed the string and it's fixed the problem - many thanks for your help with this.

Thanks Paul.
I'm now struggling a bit with K2 and Zen tools, so I'll probably be worrying you again over the next week or so...

Right

With k2 be careful managing the settings as there are lots :)

Its best to work in one parent category and having the other categories inherit from the parent - otherwise it can get confusing
