How to Limit Access on All Modules Except One

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi folks,

I'm trying to limit access to ALL modules for Managers. I know I can do this on a module by module basis, but the default is that Managers have access, so I would have to change every one.

Is there a way to make the default for Managers to NOT have access to Modules?

Thank you,

Bill

Hi Ed, wow that was a very descriptive answer, thank you!

I"ve tried as you suggested, but am having a strange issue where the limited group still shows each module as editable. And the group member can, in fact, edit any module—once. After that, the module becomes static. (See attached screenshot, where I edited several modules, once.)

I realize this is a Joomla issue, not a template issue, so I totally understand if you suggest I seek help elsewhere.

Thank you and cheers,

Bill

Bill,

ACLs are not my strongest 'cup-of-tea'. Suggestion... after making an ACL adjustment, clear your site & browser cache and see if that helps. By making this type of adjustment you are altering how Joomla and the end user interacts with the site. A simple cache dump might do the trick.
