Weather held off in the end and day went well

Worked out the problem with the body tag - I removed extensions one by one - its the hackguard extension remove that and the close body tag appears and code validates

I had to remove the siteground tag on the footer which comes with this extension and this is the problem.

However still no luck with opera the slides still don't work as expected

Also discovered new problem - in opera can't get images to load in my galleries - when I click on the image it the loading icon appears and then nothing

Any pointers?

Sorry Paul, I am not sure what is happening there.

I can't see any reason for it, but it is the same for me. No pop-up in Opera.

Hopefully one of the other mods can spot what the issue is...

Hey Paul,

Looks like Opera doesnt like the smoothscroll but it gets back to the top in my testing. Just jumps rather than scrolls.

Regarding prettyPhoto it works in opera on our demo on the jb site. The only difference I see int he scripts used on your page is the font js. Any chance of disabling that to see if it works then?

This sort of thing is really trial and error and if removing the font doesnt work Id systematically try removing other javasscript on the page but Id start there first.

will do - in quick test on local machine removing font doesn't make a difference.
Will work it through tomorrow

I've sorted the problem I think through trial and error - its due to the version of jquery.

Not many of javascript effects worked with 1.4.2 on opera but touch wood everything seems to work with 1.3.2 version.
Even the back to top which before was very jumpy

Now I'm trying to understand why the graphics on the slides look different on IE, Opera & Chrome compared to Firefox and Safari - the background black is different for the logo and contact graphics

Thanks

I was trying to blend the image on the contact graphics into the background - .png was too big a filesize so used .jpg.

Found it tricky to match the colour and there is a variation between the different browsers - its possible it could be my monitor as its a high spec photo editing monitor

Its only minor issue but its annoying me

Riiight, now I understand. I was looking at the top logo!

So, when creating the image, did you set the background as #161616?

yep - that was my first point of call.

The bottom version is actually #120f16 for the 1st screenshot

I've now changed it for the original on the live site which jumps out more on IE, Chrome & Opera
The screenshot attached here is with #161616
