template to move from 1.5 to 2.5

Hi, I am planning an upgrade from 1.5 to 2.5 on a site that unfortunately only has a 1.5 template option (elevate2).

So I thought that the staff newstream template with 1.5 and 2.5 may be a good option, do you think that this may be fine for making this move?

Do you think (also) it would be cool to make the process this order? (locally)

add to local site newstream (1.5) template
elevate2 change (1.5) -> newstream (1.5) template
make jupgrade
newstream change (1.5) -> newstream (2.5) template

Your plan seems like reasonable one. Be usre to upgrade all extensions on new site to J2.5 versions also
