Responsive Templates

Hi JB Team...

I am trying to establish what is required for a 'template' to act responsively... I have three sites using 'responsive' templates from JB. Do I need to make any adjustments in the administrator section or is it all automatically taken care of in the integral programming of the template?

Thanks,

Tony

Hi,

the general reponsive setting are arranged by mediaqueries.css in the template /css directory. This is in combination with the mobile layout settings in the template settings. Here you can 'rule-out' , rows( grids)

But you change also specific css for iPhone , Android and iPad.

In general this arranges a responsive site quit good. But I use some specific CSS for the different device to finetune the mobile presence.

Hi Bert... would you know if the JB templates that are designated 'responsive' have all of the CSS in place for display in the various devices? I am presuming they do... and is any activation needed on behalf of the administrator?

Thanks for responding...

Tony,

Not all JB templates are responsive but the the last 5-months- 2012 templates are responsive.

You can activate the responsive setting in template styles/ layout/mobile..

- You have to enable mediaqueries and the mobile menu.
- Depending what you want, you can choose for togglemenu. Beware, you have to create a new module ( mainmenu) specially for mobile in the togglemenu position. ( otherwise no mobilemenu will show up)
- in the section ( layout/mobile..) you will find as well the devices you like to target. And which options you don't want top show on small screen ( i.e. banner slideshow)

When you have done these three steps, it should work

Thanks... Bert, that was so helpful!
Yes, the templates I am using are all considered 'responsive' by JB...
I can now go to work on this!

Cheers
