jTweet doesn't load

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I've installed and enabled jTweet and the JB Library but still the tweets wont load.

The joomla website is still basic as I'm trying to make things work first (don't want to add too many things).

Hey David,

The advice to disable jQuery was due to two versions loading on the site. Let us know which site you have a problem on and maybe we could shed some light on the issue.

Cheers,
Jason.

Hi there!

First of all, you guys have some nice extensions - love JBFaq and now we're also using jTweet.

We have a test site at avenueonetestarea.com/smartsoft/ with jTweet. The tweets used to load but now it just shows the link to Twitter. I thought it might be a jquery conflict but turned off almost everything on the site and commented out any other jquery calls in the index.php and the tweets still aren't loading. Any ideas?

We have JB Library enabled also.

thanks,
Christina

Try going into jblibrary, disable lazyload, if its already disabled, enable it and then disable...not sure it will help you but worth a try

Thanks for the reply. We didn't change anything from my last post, so maybe it was a Twitter thing?? In any case, it works on the test site.

However, on the live site, www.smartsoftmobile.com/home, it isn't working. Various jquery scripts and extensions are still enabled there. Do you think it's a jquery conflict? Though the weird thing is, even though I disabled all other jquery references on the test site, it still took overnight for the Tweets to come back.

Does Twitter just periodically not work on a site? We're using two different hosts for the live and test sites - would that make any difference?

Could it be a cacheing issue ? I was just trying to tune my setup for optimum performance and turned on some cacheing, in the Joomla admin, and the plugin system cacheing, and it caused me some trouble ?

I haven't changed any of the caching settings. It's all set the same way it was installed.

Hi there,

jsor-jcarousel is still loading jQuery, and it is my guess that is the source of your conflict. Try disabling jQuery loading on that module. If you have the latest version of JBLibrary you can use that to prevent the 2nd instance of JQuery loading.

Tornado and Seth - you were both right. The combination of switching off Lazyload and removing the jcarousel worked. Thanks very much!
