sorting not working

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

dear support, dear community,

we have a problem at a site, the sorting options of the module are not working. no matter what we set it to, the sort order is always like the sort order in the photoset on flickr.

url:
wienerwebdesign.at/
module: kratochwill on location

we use a photoset in the module, and the sort order should be: newest posted first.

here is the flickr set:
www.flickr.com/photos/83859941@N04/sets/72157631690131468/
the last picture in the set is the newst uploaded.

any clues?
thanks and best regards
philipp

by the way: we tried enabling and disabling javascript / css on both of the jflickr modules on the page, and also unpubslihing the other jflickr module above. but both things have no effect on sorting and / or display of the module content.

Thanks for spotting this.

I've just confirmed the bug and have added it to our tracker and will have an update in the next day or so.

Thanks

Hi!

This is a Flickr API restriction. The sort parameter is only available for the "search" method. Unfortunately the photoset api hasn't a sort param (www.flickr.com/services/api/flickr.photosets.getPhotos.html). All the other options for Gallery Type, use the "search" method (www.flickr.com/services/api/flickr.photos.search.html) which has the "sort" option.

The API doesn't include any information that we could use to manually sort the gallery (for method photoset), so we can't do anything to fix that.

Thanks

this is strange, because on a different project ( www.smango.org ) we use the same module and there it did work. (bottom of page)
the last photos shot by smartphone and uploaded via flickr app show in correct order

what could be the difference here?

thanks and best regards!

solution: i changed the settings to USER, with that the sort order works.

so the sorting should be availble for SEARCH and USER.

Hi!

Yes, you are right, the USER option works because is the same SEARCH method call for flicker, just with some additional params.

I hadn't tell you about that option, sorry.

And thanks :)
