I posted a forum message (http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=428&t=450604) on joomla.org seeking assistance in using emails and not usernames when logging in. I was excited to find there was a native J1.5 that performed this function... and a little more. Site clients can now use their registered email OR their username when signing into a Joomla site.

If you need this type of login feature, give 'JFooBar JoomlaByEmail' (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-a-security/authentication-external/6739) a go. Once the plugin was enabled... DONE!

Simply awesome Ed - thanks for spotting it!

Ya... "Simply awesome" is selling this app short in my option! Before finding this baby, I had hacked a 3rd party mod_login and a com_register app and changed the 'Username' text to 'E-Mail Address' and the 'E-Mail' text to 'Verify E-Mail'. This was working but it seemed dirty to me for some reason. The key to using 'JFooBar JoomlaByEmail', no core code hacking to remember when Joomla up-grades come up... sweet!
