I want to download a template, but it isn't working without the joomla installation.
Please let me know, how I can get the template.

Are you looking to install the demo site version?

This is the quickstart file

this contains Joomla - this file needs to be extracted to an empty folder

I can give more information but am I on the right lines?

No, you are not on the right way.

I have a site with joomla 2.5.6 and a template is there already installed. Now I want to install anew template to get a nicer optic.

So I don't need to install the complete joomla again, I need only to install the new template and all the sites and modules can be used.

How can I manage this?

So you need to download, install and set the new templates as default in the template manager styles page

What template are you wanting to install?

as different templates require different plugins to be installed

Yes, that's it.

I wanted to install 3 Templates, because my boss is then looking for the nicer one.

The templates are:

Corporate Lifestyle
Pure Business
ReVision

Can you please help me by the installation?

Can I just check you are aware the Pure template isn't responsive?

Whitch version of Corporate lifestyle are you planning to install?

Which version?

If it is possible I would like to use the newest version with Zen Bridge 3.

If not, I would install the version for 2.5.

ok so you need to install one template at a time to check you don't hit a conflict between them

especially with Pure being a lot older than the other two templates.

I think if it was me I'd install into 3x sub folders the quickstart template versions of them so the sites are separate

This will be a lot quicker for you than combing them in one site

Is that an option?

So you need to download and upload the quickstart file to a sub folder on your server space and then follow the doc

Now I have read all and I didn't know, how to do it:

The sub folder is where. Should I make a subfolder in my ftp area of the original site?
And if yes, where?

If I have uploaded the template and have installed joomla, how do I get the informations from the old site into the new one?

Or how do I install then the template into the old joomla?

You can't transfer existing data I'm afraid

The quickstart can only work if its an empty folder

Yes you would need a sub folder either via ftp but mostly likely via the cpanel as you will need to be in there anyway to set up the empty databases

sorry you can't

I thought this a was kind of demo for the boss and that the demo data would be sufficent

If you only intend to use one of the three templates its making a lot of work to install and set up the three different templates

Is it possible to install the template over quickstart and to load the old site over the ftp into the new site?

Or is there a way to reduce the time for setting up the complete site.

In answer to your question - no thats not possible

How much is the content you have added?
Copy and paste text across?

You can try installing the three templates and assigning them but it will be a lot of work and will require 3x different frameworks to be installed

Also configuring three templates will require a bit of work

With Pure not being responsive and older will probably mean you need to use different extensions than the corporate and revision site

Hence my suggestion for the separate quickstart sites

- with corporate being a bridge template its using a different plugin - hence the second link
