'Social' module position not available to select in module?

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi all,

Just a quick one here - I want to assign a custom module in place of the built in social icons in colorshift2 but the 'Social' position isn't available in the position dropdown list. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Searching for modules by position 'Social' does not yield any results either.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Regards
Donna

Hi Donna,

With built in icons they are controlled by the template so a position as such doesn't exist

I'm assuming you don't mean the icons below the home menu link?

Hi Paul,

Yes those exactly - In the buildr template this is a module block called 'social' - however there is no way to assign a module to this location, the social icons are not required in this location. The only other block available in this section is a spacer, thus it seems that i cannot remove these social icons and replace them with my own content.

Hi Donna,

Are we referring to the icons below the menu?

Hi Donna,

If you click the pencil of the toolbar row do you see social listed in the right sidebar?

Hi Paul,

Yes it is, I simply want to re-use the module position for a custom html module, rather than use the social icons.

Hi Donna,

Instead you would drag and drop a position in there

For example in the quickstart I dragged and dropped grid6 as it wasn't being used

Thanks Paul, for some reason I had it in my head that the module positions were fixed to a particular row - I don;t know where I got that from, as now you point it out I remember moving them about before on a previous build.

Thanks again for the clarification.

On previous older framework versions it wasn't possible to move modules via drag and drop
