Hi Nicole,

step by step was how to find a particular zentools2 module
and
how to use loadposition

back to your site

www.mathiasj2.sg-host.com/mathynoux_quick/index.php/zentools/zentools2/stacked

The module is zentools2 with the stacked layout with the content source set as images and 1 folder selected,

The template is backgrounder
The Backgrounder template is set as the default template in template manager

The default template is marked by a star in template manager.

Cheers
Paul

Dear Paul,

Could you understand that I do not understand the 'way' you are answering:
1) you are a human being, so you can, I assume, answer in a way that I can understand.
if I cannot understand, as your customer, i am entitled to you making a 'step' towards you being understood. Thus talking in English, or American.

That's what is happening with success, in human relationship since thousands of years.

2) so, with my question: what am I layout to look for in the QuickStart Designer: can you tell me not with a mere answer, like 'all layouts' but, precisely those only that require my attention.

Thank You ,
regards,
Nicole

No. What you tell me there, I already knew.

What I am wondering is how do you build that page, with the "stacked" thing.

I have browsed thru all the layouts in 'styles' and got none which by clicking the eye icon, showed me with the stacked thing.

So where is it?

best,
Nicole

Hi Nicole,

Apologies if slightly incoherent but a bit late here

www.mathiasj2.sg-host.com/mathynoux_quick/index.php/zentools/zentools2/stacked

We are looking at the module inserted into the page using loadpositon?

This is a zentools2 module - am I looking at the right part of the site?

hi Paul.

ok, i saw how to have 'content' and pick folder of images.

1) what to write in 'count' now it's set to 10, why?

2)- how now to elicit the text that goes on top of the images in the folder? how to make it appear the way it does in Your Example of 'demo stacked' ? :: like the 'a platter' in your example attached yesterday, or subsequent text: 'Concealed refinement' - 'preparing' etc ??

3) the module has a position, but what is the template style layout which shows the row with the position 'stacked example' does not seem to be the default 'backgrounder' (!!)

at what point are they all used these other style layouts?

4) in the module > menu > menu assignment : which menu needs to be created and or picked up in order the module to function properly ? there are scores of menus and categories checked boxes: are they all necessary for the required 'stacked' effect (as appearing in the demo) ?

5) when i try to have answer to the previous question, i go to Menu Manager?? what Menu or SubMenu to pick, which has an Article which loads the Module we talk about now?

6) what category has been used in the 'stacked' example on your site ?

7) is it really required to create a category, what if i do away with that?

Can I have full answers to all these points? I am losing time trying understand, Thank You - Best - Nicole B.

Hi Nicole,

The template is made up of rows

inside a row is a container

The container contains module positions

For the position to be activated a module in module manager needs to be published/enabled in that module position

For row and container settings to apply a module has to be set to display and a module (as above) be published and set to display

Rows and containers have settings for numerous options

so the stacked position of the module used for stacked ought to be in a container, which is in turn in a row, right? in which Template Style 'eg. 'backgrounder', or 'xero' ? am i to look for this container and this row with the 'stacked position' ?? i mean: in your quickstart demo ?

i have searched and cannot find it at this moment.

and besides, subsidiary question: why are there so many Template Styles: with what purposes have you created so many in your demo?

(see my previous post for the 7 questions i would need answers)

Thank You

Paul,
Please when Answering my 7 Questions, do the effort of Quoting me, each my question, and provide an answer just below. Do it point by point. Question - Answer, step by step.
as I have as much difficulty understanding your answers as understanding your demo .

Be clear, please,
Thank You in Advance for all your efforts!

Hi Nicole,

Can you create separate new threads for your questions

we are on page 3 already with this thread so I think it might be easier if we split up your questions into smaller chunks

1) what to write in 'count' now it's set to 10, why?

Count is the number of items set to display

e.g. 10 images, 10 articles etc

Depending on the content source and the layout selected in the zentools2 module

This particular example uses the file names of the images themselves

You can control the word separator in the content tab of the zentools2 settings

e.g. my-file-name.jpg

using the default text separator comes out as

my file name

This displays the image title in the stacked module as the content source is images (a selected folder in the joomla media folder)

The folder is selected in the content tab

And the drag and drop section of the module displays

title
image

so it takes the image from the folder and the title of the file name
