In order to install the Backgrounder Template do I have to install the Buildr Template First?

Also, would there be a problem with using an older template like the Newstream 2?

Hi Elizabeth,

backgrounder is a buildr preset so it can only be installed with buildr
bambootheme.com/showcase/apr16/home/backgrounder

So you need all the plugins including zen plugin, shortcodes and zen menu

I don't know of any problem apart from potential back to top problem with icons

With the site it is a development site you are planning to install it to? and not a live site

Also you have a backup in place?

Are you referring to the Backgrounder Template or the Newstream 2 template? I build sites on my site and then when they are finished I have the client pay for hosting at Siteground and Siteground makes the site live on the client's chosen url..

I am considering using either Newstream2, Medica or Backgrounder although Backgrounder will have a large learning curve.

With adding a new template to a site I'd suggest using a development site rather than a real live site

backgrounder is a preset of buildr so I assumed you were installing buildr into an existing site

A development site is a site being developed so isn't a finished client site

I'm basically saying updating a live site with a new template and new plugins is something I'd personally avoid and instead, I'd add to development site / backup site first to see how it goes

Thanks Paul, I was not going to install Buildr or Backgrounder on an existing site but a new site... in a folder on my website (so I guess that would be a development site, not live. But it sounds too complicated.. I think I will stick with Newstream2, Responsive or Medica.. thanks for your help though.

I would consider Buildr as it is much more flexible than Newstream2, Responsive or Medica

Buildr includes a new version of response as a preset so I would really look at using this rather than an older version of Responsive

Can I pay you to install whatever is needed to create a website with Buildr and Backgrounder... I tried to install Builder once before and it didn't work. I would be happy to pay for extra services so that this could be done

Yes we could do via the quickstart express service

The only condition we have with the quickstart express service

"Unfortunately this service is not available for windows based servers."

I use Siteground.. should I call and ask if it is a Windows based server.. I kind of doubt it is.. I am on the road tomorrow and for about a week... but would love it if I could pay you to install Buildr/Backgrounder....I am home again September 5..

I am home again. What would be the steps to pay you to install Joomla Version Buildr/Backgrounder

in the folder backgrounder located here:

I think you would need my username and login for the Siteground control panel and my
ftp username
ftp password
ftp directory
