Sticky nav or back to top on phones

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Bamboo Team,

I would like to enable sticky nav or back to top button on mobile phones but I don't seem to be able to do it. I unchecked the "disable on phones" sticky nav box in the template manager but the nav refuses stick. I don't see anywhere to tell the back to top button to show up. I only need one or the other. Some of my pages are very long on those tiny screens and users have to scroll a lot to get back to the navigation.

Thanks for all your help as usual!

Hi Joanne,

Before I check with the team - are you using the latest version?

Maybe not. I have Buildr 1.0 installed. I see it's up to 1.1.5?

Can I install the newer one without messing up my settings?

Hi Paul,

I backed up, then updated the template to 1.1.5. All went well. Settings still there, etc.

I flushed the cache (I'm on Siteground) reloaded the page, but still no luck on either the iphone or the Windows phone. I haven't tried it on an Android phone yet.

Both still aren't working on the phones. I just need one of them to work.

Off canvas menu type doesn't show up at all on either the iphone or the Windows phone. Just no menu. Nothing there.

In my custom css I have the following code that targets the menus but I don't think it should interfere. I'm just changing colors and widths:

/*menu*/
ul.zen-menu-child.cols-1 {width: 300px;}
#menu ul > li a, #menu ul > li span.zen-menu-heading {color: #606c76; font-size: 1.1em;}

/*sticky menu*/
.fixed #menu ul.first-level > li > a, .fixed #menu ul.first-level > li > span.zen-menu-heading {color: #062a30!important;}
#menu ul > li.active > span.zen-menu-heading, #menu ul > li.active > a:active {color: #fff!important;}

What about the back to top feature? That would work too. Any ideas why it wouldn't show up on the phones?

I used the css Lorenzo came up with to keep the toggle menu at the top on phones and fiddled with the logo and logowrap to make it look nicer and it works now on the phones.

From what I read, he was having the same problem that I was only he was smarter and figured out a fix!

But I'd still like to know about the back-to-top feature. It would be great to get that working on the phones too.

Hi Joanne,

I'm waiting to hear back on the sticky nav - this is a decent solution

The framework versions you are using are different - your site should work without any change to the css

The back to top is disabled I think due to space constraints on mobiles - will also check about this
