The demo has just dummy layout html, as you have probably gathered!

You will need to add a form script, whilst you can code this directly, most people use a form component. We use breezing forms, but other like RSforms are available. This will provide an easier way to build a form. JB team may offer other suggestions

For a simple form you can use the one that comes with core Joomla

In most case though I would recommend a form component as it will give you more control with hand coding overrides.

I'd echo Ian's comments I use RSforms myself - Rob uses Chronoforms

I've found RSforms a bit easier to use but all of them are good to use as I've always found the contact form that comes with Joomla to be a bit limited
