Corporation Tmplt - 'Background' image not responding to 'Stretch image to fit' in Chrome & Firefox

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

In the backend of my site in the 'Template' settings, , I have selected a background image and have it set to 'Stretch image to fit'. It looks GREAT in IE & Edge, and on smaller screen sizes in Chrome & FireFox. Unfortunately, on larger screen sizes in Chrome & FireFox the background image will not stretch. Instead, it repeats. Anybody know what is causing this & (more importantly) how to fix it???

I should add: It definitely seems to be related to screen size. As the background images I have in a 'Stacked' module I created are having the same issue. If I enlarge by Chrome & Firefox browser windows, these 'stacked' module images will not longer 'stretch' , but 'repeat' in the background instead.

Thanks for your response, Paul.

I've attached screenshots of the issue in Chrome, and the same areas of the site displaying correctly in Edge.

If it helps, in the Template 'Theme' Settings I also customized the primary and secondary colors, the template max width, the opacity, and row styles. I also made changes in the 'layout' section, etc.

Any assistance you provide would be great.

I had to go ahead and put the site back online so that I could test out our components functionality for when the business off opens in (my) morning. I'll leave the 'background image' set for about another hour or so before I remove it if you would like to a frontend look at the 'Home' page in both Edge (proper display) and Chrome (not displaying 'stretch to fit' in background, or 'stack' module).

The site is:

Sorry with the different time zone e.g. me being in England I may have missed what you changed or had previously

At the moment it looks ok to me in Chrome

Sadly, no, it is not resolved. The images will appear properly on smaller screen sizes in Chrome & Firefox, but not in larger.

Any thoughts why this is occurring?

Thanks.

Hi

I'm looking in Chrome and Firefox and it looks fine

Can you re-attach the screenshots - so I can compare

What screen width are you viewing the site on?

Are the browsers the latest versions?

Hi Laura,

I see you have a ticket open its best if you work in there

At the moment I can't replicate the problem on different machines so I think its best if a developer helps you with this

Thanks, Paul. I'll do that. I guess the good news is that if you can't replicate it may be most viewers won't be able to either!

I just wanted to update this forum post for anyone else having the same issue. We've narrowed-down the problem: its TOUCHSCREEN displays on devices such as convertible laptops/tablets, All-in-Ones, Chromebooks, etc. (not cell phone sized) in CHROME & FIREFOX (Edge/IE is fine) . In these cases, the background images are displaying as they would on a device such as phone, and thus repeating to fill the additional space. On non-touchscreen devices of the same size, there are no issues.

No resolution yet, but I have great faith in Rob & Anthony.

I'll update this post when the issue is resolved to help others.
