Menu Links on second level of 1 page site

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Site here has 1 page menu assigned - www.brightsunpublishing.com
Setting up a Blog and the menu I cannot get sorted - www.brightsunpublishing.com/blog/
These items are two from the front page and the home link in the menu is a # link.
Have tried assigning other Menus to these pages and no change.
:blush:
Any thoughts?

Hi

With the links you are using a one page menu is that correct rather than a standard menu?

www.brightsunpublishing.com is correct
The Blog menu I want to change but cannot seem to find how to do so.
The Home link won't go to Home/index.php
The others I don't want.
Hope that's clearer?

Hi

You will need to turn off the one page menu in that case

I should have added one page menu is under menus and you will need to create a new template style and assign it

?????

Why can't I have the 1 page menu on both first and second levels?
Alternatively, why can't I have different menus on the home page and "other" pages?

I'm confused .. sorry

Hi

You can have different menus on different pages - you need to create different template styles or versions and assign them to different pages

e.g. assign the one-page menu template to the home page and then have the standard menu set as the different template style and set as default in template manager

one page menus are module driven that's why the home isn't working as you anticipated

with the blog you are looking to use menu links which require the standard Joomla menu

Ok, I got that thanks and know about that.
I have 2 templates, each with different menus assigned to them.

The challenge is the second menu will not appear even though it is assigned to specific links.

So am I missing something here?
Not had this issue before, been doing customised menus, private, public, multi-member menus for yonks.

With the one-page menu it is intended for one-page websites

When it's enabled it disables the standard menu for this reason and uses module content as triggers combined with the template settings

The second menu is the normal / standard menu is that correct?

Ok I have been trying all sorts and here's where I am at

Default Template
==============
One Page enabled

"Secondary Template"
===============
Specific menu enabled for three links, as below

Back Home - site index.php
Blog
Contact

What is showing on the secondary menu is a "Blank" menu that is not assigned to any template. The secondary menu is not appearing even though it is assigned to that template.

Hmmmmm

With the one-page menu, it only links to modules and when it's enabled the normal menu won't show

The one-page menu links to sections within the same single page

We are both confused.

What you say is absolutely correct and is what appears below

1. Default Template
==============
One Page enabled
www.brightsunpublishing.com
Functions as it should

I understand fully about the modules and their positions etc.

My issue is how to get a functioning menu for pages other than the Home/index page as I've activated below

2 "Secondary Template"
==================
When I click away from that one page to a link with the Blog and the likes there needs to be a functional menu activated for this secondary template.

I have a specific menu enabled as below

Back Home - www.brightsunpublishing.com/index.php
Blog - www.brightsunpublishing.com/blog
Contact - www.brightsunpublishing.com/contact-details

I have assigned the Template to these specific links and menu.

What I'm having issues with is that the menu and links I have assigned to the secondary template refuse to appear on those pages

As well the "Blank" menu which is not assigned to ANY pages appears with the following

Login
Organic Growing with Worms
Worms and Soil Fertility
Book Review
Contact Details

So how to enable and disable the menus for the non index pages is what I'm seeking assistance with.

Do you have the site default's template set as having a standard menu?

Is the menu module published on the relevant pages?
