Zentools2 + Grid3: Thumbnails not loading

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,
Temporary website address here: www.rachelpopowcer.com/Joomla/index.php/services/latest-work and this page: www.rachelpopowcer.com/Joomla/index.php/services/archives
(GALLERY > LATEST and GALLERY > ARCHIVES pages)

Using: Grid3 and Zentools2 (most current versions of both)

Problem: the thumbnails underneath the slideshow on these two pages do not always load. I have tried this both at home and at a coffee shop with different wifi. I can see the image titles of the thumbnails (in Safari, it's just outlines where the thumbnails should be), but the images themselves do not load. Seems that sometimes they get to a certain point and just stop. And then sometimes they decide to load when I reload the page (but not always). This seems most common in Firefox, although it happens also in Safari and Chrome.

I will attach screenshots.

Thanks,
Melody

Hi Melody,

I'm not seeing that but it might be because I'm a bog screen

Can you try turning off lazyload in the template settings

Cheers

Yes - that worked! Thanks!

One more thing - in Chrome (only in Chrome), a thin line appears to the right of the main slideshow image on those two pages. It appears to be a piece of the next image. I can't figure out how to make it go away, and it doesn't always show up, but I'll attach a screen shot.

Thanks,
Melody

Hi Melody,
Does adding this to your custom.css file fix the issue:
.zt-slideshow.owl-carousel .owl-item {padding-right:0 !important}

No, unfortunately the css code did not fix the issue.

It looks like I am using T3 2.5.1

I tried to update to 2.5.2 and I got the following error message:
Warning
Update path does not exist.
Message
Error updating COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_TYPE_.

I will attach a screen shot of the issue. The website is now live at:

Hi Melody,

With all JB template please stick to the T3 version found on the template download page

Can you back up first and then -

Can you install the version from the grid3 download page

Then compile all and the theme using the less to css button

Hi Paul,

I have installed T3 version 2.4.7
(Note that the link from the Documentation>Joomla Templates>Grid3 Documentation>Downloads is bad - www.joomlabamboo.com/downloads/grid3-downloads )

I do not see any changes (note that the line is only in Chrome, but not visible in Safari or Firefox).

Thanks,
Melody

I clicked on "LESS to CSS" button while in Templates:Styles>Grid3>Edit Style - should I do this somewhere else too?

thanks,

Do you have a working backup in place?

Supposed to have one with Bluehost but I can't get their "restore" to work - once I get them on the phone, I'll do a restore to yesterday and see if that helps.

Unfortunately Bluehost's backup is not available right now, so I can't run a backup. (I need a new webhost server - Bluehost has been really terrible recently.)

Sorry I wasn't clear you don't need to do a restore

But I would try installing akeeba backup core and using that as a backup

I would never rely on a hosts backups

www.akeebabackup.com/download.html

I can quite relate to the host being terrible I had an issue with my host where they literally pulled the plug out on 1,500 servers

I'm still recovering

Okay - I installed the Akeeba backup and saved a backup.

And then I fussed with the padding on the element, and it seems that the line in Chrome has disappeared. Although when the page is loading, it appears briefly (as if the next image is queued up) and then goes away.

So I guess we're good on this one.

Thanks!
