Difference between zentools1 and zentools2

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Folks,

This thread will serve as a brain dump for differences between v1 and v2 of Zentools2.

- Images in Zentools2 are retrieved from only the Joomla image option and not from the introtext of the item. In Zentools v1 the image used by the module could be referenced in either the item image in both k2 and Joomla and also if that didn't exist in the introtext of the item.

I removed that function in favour of performance. There were significant performance improvements when we just looked to see if the item image existed rather than doing that and then scanning the text to extract any images.

Hello,
Could you please clarify - will the new Zentools2 pick up an image that is in a Joomla article's images & links tab - in the "Intro - Image"?
Thanks as always for your time!

I have an existing Site - and in particular 2 Zentools modules are crucial to the front page. I would like to use the newer version - but the image source comment concerned me.

I will eventually take the time to clone to a DEV server and test, but haven't had an opportunity.

Thanks!
Chris

Hi Chris,

What layout is the module using? slideshow / slideshow type, grid etc?
