What do you want to see in Zentools2 - A roadmap of sorts

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Folks,

I've just released v1.1.0 which has quite a bit of what you have requested.

Check out the changelog here:

Just a word of thanks to Anthony for ZT2 1.1. I saw the new feature I mentioned previously for adding 'item count' to the title when Joomla category is chosen for the content source.

My sense is that this won't be a "must have feature for 80% of ZT2 users", and that's exactly why I appreciate seeing it - for what it says about the willingness to go further to delight your users.

So, consider me delighted. Thanks again :-)

Hi
Don't want to be querulous :P

What is the average date of enabling K2 tags as a content source in ZenTools2?

I've just tried Zentools2 and I can't find what I was waiting for: filter Joomla articles display per tag.

What I need and I would love to see in Zentools2 is the ability to select "Joomla" as content source and then in "content selection" to choose "Tags" instead of "Items" or "Categories"... this way it would be possible to create a list of articles with one or more tags.

Or better, the ability to combine "Categories" selection and "Tags", to show a list of articles in a specific category with specific tags...

Hi

You can filter by tags using the Joomla tags as the content source and in "Module layout and settings" filter by either category or tags

You may need to upgrade to the latest version of the module if you have an older version of zentools2

Hi,
well, that was how I supposed it works, but it doesn't...

I will open another thread to discuss the problem.

Thanks.

Hi JB Team,

I recently started looking at ZT2 more closely now as I'm trying to modify a template to fit my design. Great features/design although I assumed that modules were supported as a content source, I did read here that modules are a bit tricky to implement but would hope to see it if possible.
Alternatively, having some sort of 'custom html' content source would be nice - exclusively supporting text, images and links/buttons that are entered manually into the ZT2 module maybe (that way some of us could maybe use the parallax stacked feature more robustly)?!

Thanks

Hi

Do you mean the ability for example stacked to have html over the top of the image?

Hi Paul,

Yes, pretty much that and maybe displaying it in separate columns (depending on the case).
Also, actually outputting a module over it was what I meant (in the case that you have a twitter, facebook, etc. module feed).

Thanks

At the moment you can use stacked and the gallery option

Then you can display content on top of the image

You could use the shortcode layout syntax for columns together with text content but I don't think twitter, facebook etc would work

Working with the new Zentools2 on a client's site there is one feature, which would "kill it all".

There should be a set-up in which I can draw external content. It should show the picture, title, the first 150-200 words and then the link.

Above it, I either want to comment the external content or have my site's articles as comment above. A bit like scoop.it but on my website with my content in the forefront and the great JB Design.

What do other members think? Could this be of use?

thanks

Hi there,

I have an rss feed as a content source on my list.

So the rss feed would pull in any available data - eg title, text, image etc.

Is that what you mean?

Thanks
