Template settings blank

Hi
I have just been to the back end of a client's site to make an adjustment to the template settings and I find that all the settings boxes are empty....image below

However, the original settings are showing on the front end. Is this something that you have come across before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Paul

Yes, I do have admin tools on the site. Only firewall is through Admin tools. I have noted previous comments about admin tools and have set these as suggested....

Hi Malcolm,

With the settings have they been displayed since added analytics?

Do you have any other security extensions on the site?

Hi Paul
This is getting really frustrating.

I have uninstalled Admin Tools and the Watchful client but I am still getting unpredictable behaviour when trying to save any settings Formatting keeps getting lost and often reverts to the blank "home" screen. I have even reinstated the vanilla .htaccess file.

Here are some images that illustrate the sequence of events (or some of them)

I hope that makes sense. Any pointers appreciates.

please include cpanel details if possible as well as site access login

Thanks

Hi Paul

Rob has been working on this and it seems there may be some corruption of the template files. Why this is we haven't found out so I completely uninstalled the template and reinstalled a fresh copy and reset it up. It seems to be working at the moment. I am not going to "fiddle" further with the settings as I am convinced that there are some glitches that sometimes manifest themselves.

I am considering moving the site to the Build-r template using the Responsive theme option. Do you have any view on that?

In the meantime once again many thanks for your support.

Hi Malcolm,

Buildr does have more flexbility in module positions and styling options

Speed wise pretty much the same

Most users would build the site on development server space with it being a different template

Hi Paul
I will certainly be developing on a test server!! What I have learnt from this, and it may be of guidance to others is that trying to change settings on a live website with Akeeba Admin tools fully operational is probably going to cause problems.

The excellent guidelines here:

docs.joomlabamboo.com/zen-grid-framework-4/overview/Using-admintools-pro

seem to solve most problems, but the advice that you should develop a site before implementing admin tools is something that I will be following in the future.

Thank you and Rob again for the advice and support. :)
