zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I just installed the file JB_Responsive2_Quickstart_j345_v1.4.0.zip to my Joomla website and got the "installation successful" notice... but when I go to the Extensions/Template page I do not see the template there. Please help. Thank you Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth

The quickstart packages do not install via Joomla, they are complete installs that include Joomla and content. Here are some docs links to explain more, you nsy also want to immediately update Joomla core to 3.4.6 as this may not yet be in the quickstart files.

Hope that helps you.

Yes, you will need to have a database for the install to work with, the structure will then be created. It is the same process as with Joomla. Remember to leave checked the sample data option during the installation.

Once installed updated Joomla to 3.4.6 because of the security update.

I have been at this for two days... I got to the point where I had to name the database and your instructions did not tell me what to name it so again it did not work... I am very upset.

If its a live host you would need to create the database first - copy and paste the access/security details to somewhere handy and then use those details during the joomla install

sorry I missed your reply

The database can be called whatever you want it to be - same with the password

Although some the host will stipulate the name of the database

Also depending on the host the host name may be something specific to the host or uses localhost

I just tried to do all of this myself and got stuck again.

1. I created a new database using the CPanel of my host. I recorded the following information
The name of the database is oasisweb_Responsive6
username: Oasisweb_Respons
password: Sadie123

Admin User: admin
Admin PW: Sadie123

2. Next I installed the Quickstart Package According to you Directions
I uploaded the entire package to the foloder Responsive6 using the CPanel successfully
I then extracted the Package successfully and confirmed it

3. Then I continued with your Directions for the Database configuration.
On the Database Configuration screen I entered all of the information that I had recorded above
and clicked the Next Button

The following error message then occurred:
"an error occurred while trying to create the database oasisweb_Responsive6.
The user may not have enough privileges to create a database. The required database may need to be created separately before yu can install Joomla!"

Thus far, I have spent 3 days on this.
Signed,

Hi Elizabeth

Sorry to hear you are still having problems getting the qs installed, they are usually fairly straightforward in my experience.

It sounds like either the username and/r password you are entering are wrong, perhaps check and try again with the usual checks for caps lock etc....

or your host does not give you sufficient privileges for some reason, that would need the host to deal with.

Another thing to check is the hostname - whilst many hosts use "localhost", some need a specific IP address (or something else) entered as the database is elsewhere. Worthing checking the setting required on your hosting control panel.

Personally I would remove your passwords and user details from the open public forum (you can edit this), if JB needs these you should create a ticket with them. I don't have any access to this, I'm just a user like you.

Alternatively you can open a ticket with all the CP, ftp details and the JB team may be able to help. I'm happy to try to help you with this but limited without access myself.

OK thanks. I was finally able to get the host to help.

The
JB_Responsive2_Quickstart_J345_v1.4.0.zip template is now working.

Now, can I upload the file

JB_mod_zentools_J2.5_J3+_1.13.7.zip

VIA THE EXTENSION MANAGER

thank you for your help

Thanks Ian - we appreaciate it

Thanks for the update Elizabeth sorry it took so much work to set ot up
Was is that due to privileges not being added when assigning a user to the database?

Not sure if this is helpful but we do offer a quickstart installation service you can purchase

Cheers

a user was not attached to the database. Another question: Do I install Widgetkit separately? That is what I really want to experiment with with the Quickstart files.. especially the parallax one

Hi Elizabeth

Good to hear is finally getting sorted for you.

A couple of posts back you mentioned zentools and referenced JB_mod_zentools_J2.5_J3+_1.13.7.zip

Just a heads up but this refers to zentools 1, the latest version is zentools 2 v1.1.6 and you grab a copy here
www.joomlabamboo.com/downloads/template-downloads?param=zentools2

You may want to consider which version is best or your project. Version two is actively being developed so in my opinion a better option for a new site build.
