After installation when I previewed to see how the site look like with the new template,I saw only a blank page with social icons on the right side The same thing happened with Ascent2 template I got in this case the following on the left top corner. Could you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hi

Are you wanting to install the quickstart (demo version of the site)?

What I installed are the first Zip folder not the quickstart one. Is it the reason that why the page is blank? Should I install the quickstart to get what I see on the demo?

Thanks

Yes that is correct

A quickstart includes the demo data and a Joomla install

so it needs to be installed into an empty folder

This means that I have to do the installation through FTP. This is too complicated for me So if blank page is normal, what to do next?

Thanks

Joomla is already installed all I need is to install the template with demo data without Joomla install. Is it a way to do that? I tried to upload kickstart with FTP,but It was taking a lot of time. Is this normal?
Thanks

With the quickstart file it can take some time to upload as many contain lots of imagery

When I first started I installed a quickstart to a localhost server as a reference and then worked on the real site on a developer server

That way I didn't spend a while uploading and the real site didn't have all the sample data floating around

I sometimes do load quickstarts to test and in these cases I use the cpanel and file manager to upload the zip and then extract on the server

It will take a long time if you extract before uploading - I'd strongly suggest not doing that

Thank you for your reply. But if I do not want to use quickstart package and want to use JB_Responsive2_J3+_v1.4.0.zip
what are the steps to follow so that I start customize the template.

I have already downloaded and uploaded to the server, but the problem is that it´s blank and nothing appears. I created menus articles, but nothing appears. What is the problem here.

Hi

Do you have a link for the site?

I would suggest using a quickstart site as a reference - this is what I did and still do when testing and replicating beta versions or troubleshooting members issues

I'd make sure you are using the same menu positions and that you are not hiding content on the frontpage e.g. the frontpage only displays modules

In the layout tab of the template settings you can find hide the frontpage

"When enabled the main content block is disabled if the user is on the front page."

Thanks, problem solved by unchecking Hide maincontent on front page. Now I can see text but not the main menu. Where can I send you private links?

Cheers

Hi Graham

Is the menu published to the menu position in module manager?

For private message you can create a ticket using the sidebar on the left of this page

Hi Graham,

We can help you with the publishing a menu module and assigning modules but I would suggest checking out this course or something similar as it will be much quicker for you

www.siteground.co.uk/tutorials/joomla-video/build-joomla3-site/

(ignore the siteground lessons)
