White bar instead of banner at top of page

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi.

I'm trying to have just a white bar at the top of my site instead of the banner. I'd like this to be the same size as the stickynav bar.

At the moment I'm achieving this using the Banner and Tabs Style in the template but it's not 100% effective. If I reduce the banner minimum height setting below 100px I get a gray bar between Grid 1 and the banner.

Is there a better way to do this?

Site is castingforrecovery.org.au.

Thanks!

Ian

Hi Paul.

Just the menu - although the menu does have an image instead of text for 'Home' .

Hi Ian,

Sorry I think you've lost me on this - I'm not quite following what you want to achieve - the menu is on white now

For white space above the menu you could add a huge border-top to
#navwrap

Ok - I was using a white background as a background slideshow in the template to cover up the grey bar I was talking about. I've taken the slideshow off so you can see it now if you look at the site again. It's this grey bar I'm trying to get rid of and have Grid1 fit neatly against the white of the menu bar.

hmm yes tricky

Not quite sure where this is coming from

#navwrap { background: #fff;}

removes the bar kind of but doesn't remove the space

You could also try

#menu ul > li.item-101 {line-height:10px;}

Thanks - big improvement - especially with the menu on mobile devices. Some strange behaviour though.

Safari - first page load or refresh then grid1 is hard up against the menu bar. Navigate to another menu item and then come back then there is a space. It's white though. Also, the space is on all other pages (I am using grid 9 as the top item on them though)

Chrome and Firefox all have the space.

Have tried clearing cache/history

Is this when switching to the banner and / or when still using the grid 1 position?

Hi Paul.

Not quite sure what you mean with your question.

Also, the great bar is only appearing on my 27" iMac. Smaller screens are all fine. The grey bar (between Grid1 and menu) only appears on first load or reload of the homepage. If I go to another menu item and then navigate back to the homepage it's not there. After refreshing the homepage it reappears.

Hi Ian,
Looks like the site is locked down now - so I cant see if this is still an issue or not. Let us know if it is and if so please either put the site online or create a ticket with login details.
Thanks
