Fonts look differnt in Chrome and Firefox

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Using the Venture template, I notice that the same fonts (Open Sans) on Chrome looks different to what it does in Firefox (both latest versions).

In a Zentools module, I have 9 images popping up with text in rows of 3 and they all line up nicely, as does the text, in Chrome. In Firefox, its like the text is more compact so nothing lining up correctly.

Is this common between browsers - haven't really noticed it before. Is there a way to make it look the same in all browsers?

Just another question on the same home page above and the same Zentools.

If you look at the home page on a phone (or reduce the size of the browser screen to imitate phones, the 9 graphics don't look good at all - is there a way to fix this in the Venture template or is this something to do with Zentools itself? Should I upgrade to Zentools2 - will that change anything?

With the fonts it looks ok to me when I compare Firefox and Chrome

Font rendering does vary a little between browsers - Chrome font rendering can be problematic but that is an issue with browser itself

Some fonts don't work well in Chrome but having said that I can't see a problem

Perhaps attach a screenshot or two

Regarding the images - this is a zentools setting where it fills the container to a 100%

You can change this in the image options

A way round it is to have bigger / higher quality images to start with and then the quality won't degrade as much

That worked with setting the images to 100%. Thanks.

With the font issue - attached 2 images - one screenshot of Firefox and the other Chrome.

The Chrome one has all the images lined up nicely, the firefox one doesn't

How are you linking the images / text is it standard linked to content?

I'm just wondering if zentools2 might be more suitable

Yep - just linking through to content (which I haven't done yet)

If I upgrade to Zentools2 - will that affect the existing zentools modules I have already.

It may only effect the existing modules if you compile the css in the module

I was thinking the boxed theme with equal heights

zentools2.joomlabamboo.com/zentools-layout-styles/grid

"Boxed theme with equal heights enabled" section

Boxed theme looks good .

Have just created a module using K2 categories to show on home page and its killing the home page - comes up with error

1146 - mmp_emd12_K2_categories' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT name,alias FROM `mmp_emd12_K2_categories` WHERE `id` = 85 LIMIT 0, 1

Something in Zentools 2 is causing an error. There are definitely K2 categories as just using same content as what I already have in the zentools 1 module.

Any ideas?

I only downloaded it last night.

I saved a copy of the module, deleted the first one I did, but still getting the same error.

Do I need to turn anything on under Settings in the module

www.ecomad.com.au/mmp_upgrade - you can see the screen as it is now with the error

Working ok now with the update.

One thing k2 Categories - do I have to select every category I want to show as I have chosen just one which has about 9 items underneath that and only 1 is showing. I have set count to 10 but its only showing the 1.

Not a 100% sure what you mean

Are you selected a parent category and its not selecting the content in the children categories?

I am selecting a category and want to show all the items listed under that category or any item in child categories.

It works fine with zentools 1 - but doesn't seem to have a many options in zentools 2

In Zentools 2 - under content tab - there is a list of categories - you don't know which one is a parent and which one is child - be nice to have this laid out better.

Only way I can make it work a little like Zentools 1 is to select each category. Much easier if you could select 1 parent category and show all child categories?

Any luck on child categories - have played around more with zentools 2 - removed it, reinstalled, but still no go.

Also, noticed that there are options for the Read more button. If you do an animated overlay so when you mouse over an image and the introtext shows, the readmore button sits on top of the text. Be nice if there is an option to position the read more where you want it without css.
