Domain URL is pointing to the wrong menu item

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I have a really strange issue going on. When I went to bed last night the website seemed to be going to the correct place, but when I woke up today, when you go to the URL

www.finalfrontier-dev2.com

It goes to a dropdown menu item instead of the "home" page.

And, the home page will only work with the extension of "home" at the end of the main URL.

Do you have any idea what would cause this? I have cleared cache in Joomla and in the browser. I have purged expired cache in the backend too.

I have never seen this before so I hope someone has a clue.

Thank you in advance,

Kim

Hi Kim,

I'd check the aliases of the link
Are you using any sef management component?

No, I'm not. That is what everything is telling me on google... that it is a SEF issue but I literally noticed it first thing this morning.

Last night I was typing the URL and going to the home page. But now it doesn't.

I have two templates created one for the home page and one for the rest of the pages. Menu assignment has all the Venture - Home pointing to the Home page only. Venture - Pages is pointing to all the other pages. The main URL is taking you directly to the Voice Overs page.

I attached a screenshot of the menu items along with their alias.

I am just stumped.

I am so confused. I swear it wasn't working a few minutes ago. I feel like I am going crazy.

Wait, what did you change? I have been searching since I woke up and couldn't figure it out.

Although it is good to know that I am not going crazy. LMAO.

That is so odd. That is the first thing I looked at was Menu Manager. It was set to Featured article and it didn't accept a link change.

Sorry I had to bother you with it.

Did you fix the content page that was showing on the home page too. It was there earlier and now it is gone. I don't think Rob fixed it.

Thank you very much for everyone's help. Rob and Anthony have spent an enormous amount of time helping me and now you Paul. Your time is greatly appreciated!!!

Hugs to you all.

I think Rob may have fixed that - I didn't consciously fix that :)
