cache and updating joomla latest version

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I installed Rasa 2 days ago, Then I updated to the latest joomla version 2 minutes ago. I think it was Joomla 3.4.3... not sure... but it had the following message.

Warning
Refresh Manifest Cache failed: Extension is not currently installed.

What does it mean? I saw that I have the system cache plugin disabled ( the only plugin I saw the word 'cache' in) [ I also hate that my site never show my changes for like an hour even though i clear my browswer cache. so I disable cache...and there are no pages to clear cache...am I thinking backwards and not understanding this..... maybe its suppossed to be enabled?]

Will this error make anything fail?

Hi

In reference to caching - Do you use a server that has a cache on the server? - Siteground does this

Yes, I am using siteground. I don't really know muc about caching so I guess I need to read up about what siteground does. I never thought of the server doing that.

thanks...not sure now where that leaves me but I will look for the answer, unless you can direct me to read about it all somewhere.

thanks.

Siteground has caching turned on I think by default

You can disable it via the cpanel and then when the site site is live / finished you can re-enable it

For "Refresh Manifest Cache failed: Extension is not currently installed."

Try checking the database via extension manager prior to trying the update - see if there is any issues - if there is hit the fix button

Another thing you can try - go to discover via the extension manager and click discover to see if anything odd shows up and then try updating

Finally check permissions on the site

Hopefully one of these suggestions should do the trick

Thanks a bunch! You answered a lot of questions I had and gave me a few ideas. When I don't know what things will do I am afraid to hit the buttons. So thanks... it was helpful. !
