I'm having a tough time using the core joomla random image module . It wold seem that i have the right directory as i do not get the "no images found" error message. The problem is that it tries to display the image as there is a box with the image name but it looks like a broken image. it's like tiny. Further although I have dictated that the image have 1000px width , upon inspection in firefox it says that it's 50px in width.

Lastly all my images are .jpg and i have dictated "jpg" but nothing. Again, it's published and it is trying to show but it's not quite working.

I want to use this as it's much more lightweight than a slider.

also, my host tells me that it's a conflict with the template, lifestyle2

also what happens if you use a default template and publish the module to a similar width position
