Megamenu and Thememagic Are Not Working.

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi. I am another user who is having problems with Megamenu and Thememagic not working (at all) with Lifestyle2

When I load Megamenu, I get the MM Toolbox UI but no menu loads.

Menu module in published to the "menu" position for the theme.

Thememagic loads, and I can preview, but saves do not load to the site. I see no errors in the Thememagic console and error reporting is set to maximum.

Megamenu and Thememagic DO work in a parallel installed theme, NewLifeStyle2.

Joomla is version 3.3.6

T3 is version 2.4.2 that was associated with the Lifestyle2 download. I have tried updating to 2.4.3 with no resolution.

Interestingly, the quickstart Megamenu and Thememagic work fine. BUT (!!!) the version of T3 included in that quickstart is 2.2.0.

I also noticed that unlike some other Joomla Bamboo themes, there is no Megamenu selection dropdown to enable, on the template's navigation tab. That seems odd, and in other themes I have explicitly needed to select "megamenu" from that dropdown.

Can you suggest anything? I can provide a login if need be.

I'll test this shortly

Regarding Mega Menu do you have the mega menu button available?

That replaced the drop down option

I see no Mega Menu button, other than the one at the top of the template manager. If it is supposed to be on the "General" tab, it is missing. If it should be somewhere else, where whould it be located?

We do see it in the Quickstart which is bundled for some reason with the much older version of T3 that I referenced above.

This is indeed the button to click there isn't a tabbed option in more recent versions of T3

Reinstallation was the very first thing I tried. It is quite strange. Thememagic preview works in the Template Manager. I can change theme parameters there, say to redpurple, and I see the change there, then click Save.

But the change never applies to the actual template.

No problems with Thememagic in the Quickstart.

Also, in regards to the image you posted with the balck arrow indicating the Megamenu button, yes that exists, and yes that is what I click. I am attaching what I see when I click it:

Again, I also have Newlifestyle2 installed to this same instance, and both Megamenu and Thememagic work as expected.

To anyone that may be having a similar problem - this was caused by Admin Tools somehow conflicting with Megamenu. Disabling Admin Tools allowed Megamenu to work as expected.

I am now seeking a way to have Admin Tools and Megamenu coexist - as Admin Tools provides some rather essential protections on a busy Joomla site. Will post if I find a solution.

To prevent Admin Tools from conflicting with Megamenu:

Go to Components > Admin Tools > Web Application Firewall > Configure WAF > Visual Fingerprinting Protection and set "Allow Site Templates" to "Yes"
