Broken homepage

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

After six months of frustration upgrading to Joomla 3.3 I've finally got my website working again, and am now trying to install Lifestyle 2

But I've encountered a problem with the homepage on peterjukes.com/ - for some reason clicking on home goes to the /joomla3 directory, and a different version of the template with older settings.

Any idea how to solve this. I've had to manually reconfigure the PHp.ini and configuration files because of a problem with installing modules on the tmp folder, and then another problem with writing content to the front page.

Looking forward to your help

Best

I'm seeing all the links going to /joomla3/ e.g

peterjukes.com/joomla3/tv-radio-film-stage/radio-plays

If you "Use URL rewriting" and rename the htaccess to htaccess.txt does that change urls regarding the sub folder?

Cheers

Thanks Paul: that seems to fix most the menu items, except for home, which takes me back to an older template.

Also finding the fonts in the lifestyle2 menu won't display the sans default, but go to a nasty times roman like font.

I'm not sure on the home page I'd need to ask a developer for advice on that one

The font is a bug with sans serif - the template or plugin handle the quotes around the font so it actually loads the browser default font

We don't as yet have a fix for it

Despite the changes to URL writing and Htaccess, I'm still getting the designed template at the root directory, and a different template whenever I click on home which redirects me to the joomla3 subdirectory.

What I don't understand is why the template changes aren't being saved to the joomla3 subdirectory. This effectively means I can't change the template

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,

Do you have anything set in the configuration.php file for livesite?
public $live_site = '';

Sorry for late reply

In root config file it says

public $live_site = 'www.peterjukes.com/joomla3';

But in the Joomla 3 directory the field is empty

Hi,

You need to change that to
public $live_site = '';

As you are currently telling Joomla that the site lives in the /joomla3 directory so it is adding that to all of your links which takes you to another install of the site.

Thanks so much Rob

Should I change that in both root and joomla configuration files?
