Double down arrows on mobile menu panel

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi Paul,

Template is Base3 V 1.0.3

Plugin is T3 2.4.7

The only difference is dc2photography.com website is using T3 2.4.5.

Thing that is surprising is reedfarm.ca on template v 1.0.2 had no double arrows and on 1.0.3. it has. The reverse happens with dc2photography.com???

I was mucking around with the inspect element a little more and noticed on the desktop sized site, the .nav .caret css on the problem site is picking up a top and bottom border colour which is different from the menu bar background?

On the problem site the css is:

.nav .caret { border-top-color: #592918; border-bottom-color: #592918;} but the menu background is #0e1c26

On the site that is now working the css is:

.nav .caret { border-top-color: #50647a; border-bottom-color: #50647a;} and the menu background is the same #50647a

When I change the caret colours in Inspect Element to match the background its the way it should be. Not sure where the border colors are being called from?

Thought this could be helpful in diagnosising this out.

Also, I double checked on my phone and the mobile menu is showing the single arrow so it seems to be only the desktop version that's acting up.

Regards

Don

Hi Don,

Yep I can hide it when the link doesn't have the active or hover state applying

I'm uncertain how to negate the hover style and if I'm heading in the right direction by using css :)

Hi Don,

Did you manually install the changed files or install via the standard joomla installer

If both versions have the same t3 plugin do they work the same?

Hi Paul

I changed the template file via the Joomla installer.

I'll have to change the t3 plugin to see. I'll try that and let you know.

I was playing around with the theme magic settings on the template and found changing the link colour to match the menu background removed the extra arrow. A work around fix.

Also I did notice another weird thing in that with the menu text separator, I get a different rollover coloured background on the parent link yet on the the external url link I do not get anything. On the other website that is working now I do not get any rollover background at all on the parent menu even when using the text separator. Not sure if it's a case of colours matching better in theme magic of not?

Hope this info helps.

I'm thinking this is looking like a fresh reinstall of the template and plugin maybe needed. What do you think?

Regards

Don

Hi Paul,

Sorry for the delay.

I just downgraded the t3 plugin to 2.4.5.

Just checked the home page on Chrome and IE and both still show the double arrow and the rollover colour background on the text separator menu item.

Note I did it through the Joomla extension manager installation.

Thanks

Hi Don,

Can you add

.t3-megamenu .nav > .dropdown > .dropdown-toggle .caret {display:none}

To your custom css

Hi Paul,

That seem to do the trick. I tried on both sites and it seems to work. I'll apply it to my other sites using Base3.

I was also able to figure out the css to control the hover background on the parent menu item of the nav bar as well.

Thanks
