Base 3 - article tags styling

Hi, there's a way to style the tags of an article or I must rely on css coding only?

i.e. I would like to have tags AFTER the article body, and better spaced (here the tags lines overlap).

First step regarding the styling - how does this look?

.tags span {padding: 3px 0 1px 8px;display: inline-block;margin-bottom: 4px;}

I've copy/pasted your stile in the custom.css file, but I still see tags overlapping?

I have done something wrong?
