Issue with IE8 and Zen Tools Module

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

We've a development site btuh14.cloudaccess.net where we've installed Base3

On most browsers all appears fine, but in IE8 (our clients!) we've an issue with Zen Tools resizing images - end result is text over the image.

Also noted the footer custom HTML modules have their images compressed??

Any help very much appreciated :)

I've resolved the HTML module issue by setting the links up as articles and then using ZEN tools.

They were sitting in a table

Hi

IE8 is very much out of date and XP is longer supported by Microsoft so I would strongly advise your client to update their machine

Is IE8 running in standards mode?

Cheers

Hi Paul

Yes I know IE8 is out of date, but they are a UK public sector client and whilst 90% of visits are by the general public using modern browsers, my client needs a reasonable of view of the solution through IE8.

From what I can see, running IE8 in normal mode the module fails to resize the image, but putting IE8 into compatibility mode, the images resolve, but the site then reverts into a mobile view.

Not sure what to do other than replace the module if I can't find a resolution.

Thanks for your help

Hi

That chestnut = public sector :(

Are you able to attach a screenshot of how it looks in IE8?

Hi Stuart,

Can you try as a test turning on css compression - we think its the number of css and js files its over the very low IE8 threshold

The browser has a limit of 32 css and js files and you are 3 over

With css compression it should see you under the limit

If turning on compression does the trick in IE8 you will need to disable compression while the site is being developed and then turn in on when the site is finished or reviewed by the client
