Logo text and image settings are missing

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

I might have jumped the gun by discovering and downloading the base3 template around 4pm-ish yesterday. Loving it already, BTW.

One thing that I think may have been left out: the part of the template (in the Joomla template manager, select the template ("Base3 - Default" in my case) and select the "theme" tab.) There are two UI positions under the "theme" dropdown that are empty.

Coincidentally, I can't find where to change the logo details to that of the new site. ;)

Had the same issue re logo
Create a new Custom HTML Module
Add whatever you want in there and publish it to the "logo" position

Exactly as Andrew said. If you check modules in the Module manager for the Base3 demo installation, you will find one module with the title Logo. That is exactly how the logo is created. Logo parameters in the template configuration are there for any other future template development based on the Base3 template as a starting ground

I too was looking how the logo worked.

My suggestion is to include it as an option in Template settings - makes it a lot easier than creating a customHTML which is not obvious. Lucky I checked the forum as it would have taken me ages to work that one out.

I notice that on each template I have downloaded to test, the thememagic and template settings are different under each one. Would it not be easier for the end users of the template to keep it standard so that fonts, backgrounds, links, hover colours, etc can all be changed easily no matter the template?

Hey ...

Base3 and Hub2 are the starting points for the new way we will work with T3. I explained some of this on the blog post when I announced the themes and have written in the documentation and the tooltips on the logo panel in the template admin about this.

Adding it to a custom html module makes it a lot more flexible and reduces a lot of code. So you can effectively have the logo anywhere now. I hear the disruption to the work flow but I think the benefits are much greater in terms of flexibility and a lighter template.

Re Theme Magic - some themes lend themselves to having lots of Theme Magic params while others don't. So Theme Magic will always be a little different depending on the design.

Moving the font settings in to Theme Magic for font sizes and weights means that those settings are now compiled in the css and are not output in the head as the case has been.

One of the challenges we have is making information available to folks. We try to cover the blog, documentation and the tooltips in the template but I'm sure we miss a few eyes even covering this area. Would be cool to get some feedback about how you guys use the site and where you think you would look for that kind of information.

Thanks

Anthony having been chasing my tail with Base3 and getting my head around things new, my 0.02 worth

I'd forgotten the Blog ... bit slow here
May be such article/content could form part of the Documentation intro

Re my comment else where regarding module layout and Quick Install positions
Attached is a rough concept. Replace numbers with positions

BTW Thanks for your work.

Image is just an example
I've been looking for others with similar issues and many questions relate to where things are with the Quick Install.

This thread re logo is just one I've seen.

So an image like that, better annotated than my quick deal will assist with people seeking to navigate through the default.

I've migrated from jb_kohan to Base 3 and did a local quick install and just a menu install online. I then use those installs to do a comparison to achieve what I want.

A quick and dirty way but it means things get sorted. I then trash the local install when complete.

Hey Andrew,

Actually I normally do that for themes - just ran out of time with Base3 and havent revisited.

Check out the screenshot under front page here:

ok - have worked out the off-canvas - it wasn't in the list of module positions so just added it when doing custom html which worked. Same for Panel.

Now just to work out how to mimic the slideshow part of Ignite template - its perfect for what I need. Anyone help me on that one?

Also getting a weird blue graphic/text in top left of page - when I inspect the element it tells me this
SPAN.fa-times. It is a link that goes to #panel. And something to do with triggerpanel
