Icons not appearing

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Got an issue with my Search, Cart & ZenTools Slideshow Arrows aren't loading for some reason. Confirmed the plugin is enabled and installed fine, the CSS is loading on the page etc.

Any tips?

Hi,

Do you have a link to the site?

What plugin is enabled and loading, jbtype? zentools shouldn't need it but the search probably does.

Did you use the quickstart package or the standalone template?

Regards,

Rob

sorry, orangereel.co

They were working before update, and now not. JB_type is the plugin I referenced, yes.

I currently see the cart and search icons.

Which update are you referring to?

T3 update. I'm getting white squares instead of the icons... strange.

--Also want to ask how to have the sidebar1 appear beneath main content on mobile view - should I start a new thread for that?

Hi,

The problem is that you are using cloudfront as a cdn and firefox does not allow font files to be loaded from other domains.
You can fix it by enabling cross origin requests in your .htaccess file
# ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# | Web fonts access                                                           |
# ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

# Allow access from all domains for web fonts

<IfModule mod_headers.c>
    <FilesMatch "\.(eot|font.css|otf|ttc|ttf|woff)$">
        Header set Access-Control-Allow-Origin "*"
    </FilesMatch>
</IfModule>

Thank you both

Paul - when JCH is disabled, it runs fine and pulls everything in.

Rob - the .htaccess edit didn't help. In fact it prevented the icons from loading even when JCH was disabled.

Anything on the other question or should I post another topic?

I still see the font files being blocked due to the domain they are served from.
You need to either stop cloudflare serving them or tell your server to allow them to be used.
Did you see any console errors with the htaccess snippet in place?

This is the error message when your .htaccess amendment is applied:
9Font from origin 'dvkf4q4utc2a2.cloudfront.net' has been blocked from loading by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'orangereel.co' is therefore not allowed access.

Which is just weird on it's own. But the other thing is all my other files are coming from CDN's - why would it prevent cross-origin loading for this one file?

Hi,

Can you please explain what you did before you got the 500 errors?

Rename htaccess?
Add the code lines?

The code lines are wrapped in a conditional tag so should not be causing any errors at all.

Rob

Nothing - I paste the code, I click save. That's it.

I'll admit this isn't something I'm familiar with, but I can handle a paste lol

Hi,

I think you might need to get in touch with your host to ask why it's not working.

It's not something we can really help with and is general browser policy rather than being a direct issue with the template.

Tell them that you are trying to allow cross-origin font file access and give them the lines you pasted into htaccess and they should be able to let you know why there is an error.

Rob
