Parent Menu Item Not working

Joomla: 3.3.3

I am not sure what I changed to make this happen but I have a mainmenu issue.

Along the top you will see Home, About Us, Patient Services, etc.

Three of the menus have drop down menus. When I created the menu I created the About Us menu (which is tied to an article) and then I created the dropdowns. I know the first menu [About Us] works because if I disable the dropdowns I can click on it and go to the page. But when the dropdowns are enabled, and I click on About Us, it doesn't go anywhere. It draws a box around About Us but takes you no where. I can click on the dropdowns and they do work.

So you can see an example, I have the About Us menu setup to work the way it is supposed with the menus tied to a Single Article and the dropdowns attached to Single Articles but attached to the About Us Parent Item.

Patient Services is setup the exact same way, but I have disabled the dropdowns from the parent item so you can see the article does work.

Provider Services is setup the same way but works like About Us.

What would cause the dropdowns to work but the parent items not to work?

Thanks,

Hi Kim,

This is a bug in the plugin - is this a development site or a live site?

The site is currently under development but we wanted to make it live soon. Which plugin is the problem? Do you know when there will be a fix?

Its in the T3 plugin it is due for release soon but not exactly sure when

You can use an earlier version of the plugin but I'd wait if possible

Do you have a deadline?

Joomla Backend says it is time for an update but every time I try to do it it doesn't work. It I am running 2.3.0 June 23, 2014.

When I try to update it crashes me.

You would need to update manually in this case

but

the bug is on that version and the previous two I think

The unreleased version has the fix in it

Now I have to click on the menu item just to get the dropdowns to show up.

So in summary - the situation is worse than before?

No ability to click parent and hover on the menu item isn't working?

You have to click on the menu item.. the hover aspect no longer works. I can get to the "hover" menu items by clicking but it is definitely not acting the way it was intended.

Ok we have three options with the hover -

1. Follow this doc - www.joomlabamboo.com/blog/how-to-joomla/how-to-fix-t3-mega-menu-hover-not-working-after-updating-to-t3-v2-3-0 and carry out the changes
2. You create a ticket and we do it for you
3. You wait for a template update if you are using the standard template files (see proviso below if not)

Are you using any custom named layout files?

Can you try installing the latest template update - it should fix the hover issue if using the template layout files

If you have created your own you will need to refer to point 1 and the blog post or ask us
