JB Type Styles not showing up

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi JB Team,
I have installed the New Lifestyle quickstart, (and subsequently reinstalled blank New Lifestyle template - seemed to go well with no big changes).
I have the System JB Type plugin installed (v. 1.9.0) and enabled, and I have installed JCE, but I do not see anything in the Styles dropdown in the editor. In fact, it doesn't drop down/open at all. Any ideas?

On the JBType page there is an additional file to install via the jce component installer

The link for this is JCE JB Type Plugin v2.0 - compatible with JCE v2.x

I should mention the JCE dropdown list only contains the image based icons and not the font based icons as the list would be massive

Ok, I did this install and now I see jb types in the jbtype dropdown. But my styles dropdown doesn't work at all.
In my other New Lifestyle project I see 'icon-fixed width' and 'icon-large', a couple of hikashop checkout styles and a lot of grids, navs and accordian settings in this drop-down. (see pic)

That will be a JCE config setting you need to change the file it loads for the styles

Any clue as to what I should change / add? These are both New Lifestyle templates....
Thanks!

Here is some more info:
Under JCE Administration:: Editor Global Configuration for Editor Styles it has selected 'Template CSS File', which seems correct to me...?

Is that from the site showing the styling?

There was a change in the way styles work in jce 2.4

www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/releases/changelog/editor
Changed: Font Family, Font Size, Format Select and Style Select options are now set in dedicated tabs in Profiles -> Plugin Parameters.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Rob. I see the changes you are talking about. I have not edited any of these settings since installing the New Lifestyle template. The Global Config for Editor Styles is 'Template CSS file'. I am attaching a screenshot of the setting in the Plugin Parameters tab. Again, I have edited none of this, yet I cannot see anything in the Styles dropdown box when editing Articles, etc. The Styles box doesn't even drop down.

In my other implementation, also New Lifestyle, the Editor Styles are under Typography and it is set to Inherit.

I am concerned because I will soon start implementing Hikashop and I cannot access any Hikashop styles....

thanks,
pat

Are you using the same JCE version on both sites?

My other site is using JCE 2.3.4.4, and the present site - where I do not see Styles - is 2.4.1.

The thing is, should I be seeing all of the styles when I install the quickstart for New Lifestyle? I've made no changes to JCE at all - only installed it. Should it have been installed first, perhaps? Do you guys see the styles?

Thanks again!

Hi Pat,

I'm not seeing the styles coming from the template either - this looks like a JCE issue but I will check shortly with the version you listed

Hmm I get the same - it works with your version

If I update and then downgrade it doesn't work - only works if I uninstall and then re-install

I'd check with the JCE folks for the correct setup

Hi Paul,

Any news on this problem yet? I hope I do not have to uninstall and reinstall to get the be able to see the styles....

Thanks.

Hi

Have you asked with JCE - I don't think this is a template related issue?
