Setting of Spaces in custom.css

I have been trying to adjust this in custom.css

Here is the Page Source of the page attached via link as a screen shot.

I want to have the line for adjusting the padding-top:30px to padding-top:5px

But I cannot get the thing to work.

.home #maininner {padding-top:5px;}

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Not entirely sure given that your custom rule isnt showing at all in the screenshot. If it's getting overridden somewhere then it's likely to show up in the inspector.

Anyway a link will help.
