I'm trying to download the Nebula Joomla 3 versions - quickstart package
but when I try to un archive the file downloaded - says it's corruped
tried from chrome and firefox

any help would be appreciated

I normally just double click on the zipped file - I think the mac uses
Archive Utility to extract files

I also tried Stuffit expander yesterday
didn't work

It's the first time with any of my zipped files that I download from the web that this happend

the People that is hosting my clients website - are having problems with joomla3
so they've asked that I rather upload a 2.5 template

Hi there

Ok I did install the Nebula 2.5 option that I downloaded from the ticket last week.
all installed ok -

But I seen to have problems with the directory permissions

When I installed it everything in the backend - System Information
file permissions was in red and unwritable

Tried to fix it by using 755 for directories and 644 for files, but stays unwritable - only works when I change everything to 777- but that is very dangerous
my configuration.php file is set to 666 at the moment.

Everthing is writable now in the backend- see attached
But as soon as I go in to theme magic to try and change the deep blue themes colours - the blue bar just "hang" I also can't change the template grid that is set to 960

Hi,

If your directories are only writeable when set to 777 then it points to a file ownership problem.

The files and folders need to have ownership changed to the system user for Joomla to be able to write to disk.

If you check the system information area and see the web server to php interface set as 'apache2handler' then you can ask your host to enable suphp to fix the problem.

If they won't do that then you can ask them to change ownership of the files.

Alternatively you can try the ftp layer in global configuration or restart the installation and unpack the zip file on the server using kickstart by akeeba which will give the files the correct ownership whilst unpacking the archive.

I cannot unzip the nebula 3.x quickstart on the server, I also tried with kickstart.php and the message says file corrupted, I have uploaded twice now and twice failures, thansk, I will submit support ticket for link too I guess
