[SOLVED] Potential little buggy with sidetrack et al. responsive templates in forms

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Bamboo Team,

schmitzconsulting.com/sidetrack/index.php?option=com_fabrik&view=form&formid=32&Itemid=425&lang=de

Working fine in Firefox and mobile devices but small issue in IE 8+9.

In Internet Explorer on page load the pre-populated content in those fields is half cut off and one can wiggle the content of those fields behind the fields' frame by clicking in the field, holding mouse button down and wiggling up and down, then field content will wiggle along, up and down.

I have attached a screenshot in case you don't have IE, also IE's html source and a small video showing that behaviour.

Potentially a small tweak somewhere.

I have checked in Beez_20 and that doesn't have the issue, which lead me to believe the prob is with sidetrack.

Kind Regards

Peter

Hi

I've had a couple of go's at this

- I think you will need to submit a ticket as its hard to troubleshoot this css issue in IE

Thanks

Ok Paul, will do.

Thanks for your time anyway. Pain that nearly all big corporates are on IE still for complacency mostly when this repeatedly causes trouble with modern web.

Have you changed the link / form?

It looks a lot better in IE

Thanks

I have but it still covers about 1.5 times the height as it does when properly displayed in Firefox and the described issue is still the same, which is above my CSS paygrade.

Will issue a ticket then.

Oh, just so I don't forget, could you share the magic that you did on my site? I love those clean basic templates such as sidetrack ('bit of a minimalist  ) and will definitely use the family again. I'm assuming I'm going to have the same CSS issue with all templates of the family and forms and wouldn't want to bother you with the same prob again.

Or is this something you will fix at root level so that in a fresh download the issue will be gone?

Hi

I had great difficulty getting this to display properly in IE - some of the styling issues are due to that particular from extension together with the templating styles + its hard to troubleshoot IE

I think I added the styling to the custom css area in the template settings - I can't access the site admin to confirm

sorry I can't remember exactly but I think adjusted the line height and padding of input & text area on all browsers and this brought IE into line
