impossible to use pagebreak in long articles ?

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

hello everybody...

here is something I can't understand : I set up pagebreaks in an article but it seems they aren't saved and although they actually are in the code...
Or, s'intéresser à leur maintien dans le quartier c'est forcément leur proposer les infrastructures urbaines, sociales, culturelles, éducatives, administratives, etc. dont ils ont besoin pour élaborer leurs trajectoires.</p>
<hr alt="ind1" class="system-pagebreak" title="pg1" />
<p>Il existe à Noailles des associations culturelles et éducatives qui survivent à force de bénévolat et de quelques mal-salariés ;

... they don't appear on the site : http://quartier-noailles.org/

It seem obvious but I can't see what's wrong. (I tried with both the JCE toolbar and the button on the bottom of article window)

Thanks for your advices

Hi CR,

Does it work with the default Joomla template?

hi again

It seems that "pagebreak" alone doesn't work if I don't use "readmore" first. Is it compulsory ? I looked in my Joomla! documentation but I couln't find anything related to that.
Anyway...
I set up a readmore instead of my first page break and it works fine in rhuk_milkyway, showing index an links.
rhuk
In Zen Grid, I can see "prev" and "next", but behind the article text, and there is no index...
Zengrid
(Sub menus of "W.I.P" main menu pointing to the same article.)

Is there a way to have the same kind of presentation as in rhuk milkyway ?

Hope I'm clear !!?. thanks

Hey Christophe,

I think we may have solved this issue in a template update.

What version are you using?

Thanks Anthony

Zen Grid 1.1.5

I'm checking the updates.......

It seems I'm up to date. I downloaded the template again just to be sure ...

Ah ok - Im not sure but it might be to do with errors in the source output:

validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fquartier-noailles.org%2Findex.php%3Foption%3Dcom_content%26view%3Darticle%26id%3D39%26Itemid%3D15

I think thats whats causing the odd layout on the page.

On checking those errors its because you have a nonescaped accent in the title. Try removing that or using the html entity for the accent. A good list of html entities can be found here:

www.theukwebdesigncompany.com/articles/entity-escape-characters.php

Let us know how you get on.

So...
I went through the errors and noticed that they mainly came from the microblog module on which I hadnt worked carefully yet...

I disabled it and there are only 4 errors left which seem to concern the index.php. I most probably did something wrong though I obviously didn't ever opened this file.

homepage validator
example pagebreak validator

These 4 errors appear everywhere in the site, even in the "transvercité" and "contact" menus which I set up with a genuine Zen Grid template but not in the rhuk link .

I must admit that i'm lost

Do you have an idea ?

I can give you acces to the backend if necessary Site :http://quartier-noailles.org/index.php

Cheers -

Got a fix for the issue. Go to css/joomla.css and replace this

table.contenttoc {float: right;padding:8px;display: none}
.pagenavcounter {display: none}
.pagenavbar {position: absolute;top: 600px;left: 810px;width: 100px}

with this

table.contenttoc { width: 200px; float: right; padding: 8xp; }

Obviously you can set the width to anything you want.
