menu position

Hi Paul,

Making plans for a website which has a lot of menuitems so i would prefer the menu to be on the side and if possible sticks.
Tried to position the mainmenu in a sidebar but nothing shows. So is the mainmenu always bound to be placed in the menuposition?

Cheers

Hi Henk,

What template are you thinking of using?

There are some sidebar based templates but to get ones other to be sticky would require a fair amount of work

Also just to be aware sticky menu's are disabled on mobile phone devices given their patchy support of it and the limitations of space

Hi Paul

Probably Boost or Responsive both with the sidebar left layout.
Sticky is no so important as there will be also the back to top.

I suppose that if a menu can be placed in the sidebar position which is next to the main content, it will be awkward to use grids or tabs as the placing of the menu in the sidebar will give a strange page. e.g first display content of tab and grids above maincontent and then the menu?

If so, I prefer to make the menu in its regular place and make some subs so it's not extremely wide with ten buttons.

I noticed before that if i use content above the main field and do not disable show title the title is displayed in the maincontent which is rather awkward, but i guess that's how the setup has to work.

Cheers

Hi Henk,

The main problem would be the sidebars dropping below the content

With the above issue do you happen to have a link for it?

Hi Paul,

I also think a sidebar menu is not the best option so I go for the regular menu position.

If you are referring to the title being shown below the content in grid 1 for example I donot have a link but i worked around it by not displaying the title at all.
So I am good on that.

Thanks

Henk
