Second page link on home page not working

zentoolsIf you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.

Hi,

I have icons with links on my home page. In my main menu I added a Quick Links item with a drop down. I can't get the links to work from the drop down. They bring me to an empty page. Is it because there are 2 links to the same page? Do I need to somehow designate them differently? I am a template novice so go easy on me. :(

Hi :)

No worries about being a novice - everybody starts from there :)

With the set up of the site how are you managing the template styles and layouts e.g do you have one version only of the template and thats assigned as default?

With the layout tab in the template settings - can you tell me the layout being used?

Does it say "default-home"?

If I need to explain in more detail please ask :)
If so I'll add some pics

Cheers
Paul

In the template settings, it does say "default home". I copied and made 2 other styles for the website.

Actually another page (based on the default home) is now the marked as the default page since most other pages fall into that layout.

Change default-home to default on the pages where no content is showing

I changed and got the same result. I also tried changing the 8 hidden menu items Template Style to default to see if that would work, but it didn't (so the drop down menu matches the hidden menu in this setting). Same blank page from the drop down.

As this isn't related to the ticket I'll add this here - can I suggest you install Akeeba backup core

Its a free backup extension and is great

Right so I'd trim the layouts created and either re-organise the positions published in the layout tab or create new template styles and delete the previous ones

I'll give it a try. Fingers crossed. What do you mean by "trim" the layout?
