Hi Seth,
I try to give you an idea of the project and would like to understand from you if you can make suggestions or take full control of the debugging of the problems that we have encontered (in this case I would like to understand the budget your activity)
The website is for a retailer and will be use to present opportuninies, discount, events, promotions.... everything that can be related to a retailer fidelity card.
The retailer has three different groups of shops identifying different locations.
A location is a city / village.
Articles are text and picture, some has attachments.
Articles can be related to a geography: a single location or one or more groups of locations.
Articles can be included in different categories.
Articles can be for everybody or for only card holders
Promotions can add points.
Example 1: a discount campaign can be in category "best offer" and related to the three group of shops
Example 2: a theater discount can be in category culture -> Theater, and in "entertainment & travel", and event; and is related to a single city
Example 3: a tv set promotion can be in best offer, in entertainment and be related to one single group of shops.
Here the requirements:
1) customer has choosed newstream - you can see the site at coop.bewe.it
2) we need to have the possibility to comment, share,.... that's why K2
3) we need to manage multicategories - create, multi selection, ....
4) we need to add fields: 2 boolean, 1 numeric, 1 list of location (to be managed on three groups dinamically - i need to add and cancel localities - make the association to the groups
5) we need to search the content by location and than by keywords
What we achieved:
a. Multicategory works fine - the only problem we need to fix is that in backend we cannot make a selection of articles associated to multple categories (if an article is related to a single category we can retreive it)
b. search works fine - we customized the basic search engine
c. extra fields is working - not great solution but it works
Problems to be solved:
i. we cannot manage the tabs in home page (as you see we only use one) - I have tried a clean copy of your starting kit and without multicategory it works perfectly.
ii. backend multicategory selection (as described in item a.)
iii. articles related to an event date (we use the event category for it) are shown through the calendar (to set the date we use is the creation date). When we set the date in the next month, it does not appear on the calendar (this is probably a different problem)
Desired implementations:
x. in backend when we list the articles we would like to see also the expiring date of the content
