I have 2 existing joomla 2.5 websites that were upgraded from joomla 1.7

The upgrade has subsequently broken some of the template custom features. I was wandering if it is possible to install a joomla bamboo template and adapt if with the current site and the implications thereof.

The templates used are modified Beez5 templates. Rather than trying to hack the modified template to get an outdated look and feel back up I am considering using one of the joomla bamboo 2.5 templates.

So I just want to know if this is a good idea and if there are any pitfalls to look out for?

I guess it would depend how much work you have to do updating the design

Is there a particular reason you are planning to update to 2.5 rather than the current joomla 3.3.6?

The Major reason would be a few modules that are being used that are not compatible with joomla 3.x

hmm that is a bind as I'm sure you are aware Joomla 2.5 went end of life at the end of Dec

Not sure if you have or not but I'd contact the developers of those extensions to see their intentions

It would be better to develop with J3+
