I have done exactly what the page you sent advised, as well a following identical steps from various other tutors. The process should be straightforward and all seems to work, however when I refresh my website (having made the changes) the word 'Captcha' appears but the window to enter the code is missing - also, setting up captcha knocks my location map from the page. I'm fairly sure that there is an issue with the arcadia template.

I'm using BT GOOGLE MAPS MODULE VERSION 2.0.8 and its Joomla version 3.0. and the template is Arcadia version 1.2.2 (I don't know what you mean by JB Library). You can see the site at www.elmerecology.org and if you want to access admin then its: edit

Could be a few things involved here

It looks like an old Joomla Core Bug with the wrong link in the recapthca plugin

Me and Rob googled and we came up with
